Andrew Hoeflin of Madison, New Jersey graduated from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy in 1983 with a degree in Marine Engineering, and earned a Master of Science in Maritime Management from Maine Maritime Academy in 1992. He has a USCG Chief Engineer Motor and Gas Turbine and Third Assistant Steam Unlimited Horse Power license ( currently in continuance). He holds a Professional Engineer License in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering issued in the State of New York.
Mr. Hoeflin began his sailing career in 1983 first working for Chiquita Brands on a Honduran flag break bulk ship. Then joined Maersk Line Ltd on their US Flag Prepositioning ships in 1985. Retiring from sailing in 2005 he began a shore side career with US Shipping Corp as a Port Engineer. In 2010 he was promoted to position of Manager of Engineering, where he worked through 2018. He currently is employed by American Roll-on Roll-off Carriers as the General Manager of Engineering & Technical.
