Catherine Wilson
Catherine Wilson has been an active member of Sea Scout Ship 228 since 2020 when her son discovered a passion for the historic Sea Dart II and Sea Scouting Program. She has been an adult leader and mentor for the Ship since this time and held the position of Treasurer. Her enthusiasm for the Sea Scout program continues as she enjoys supporting the ability to bring the unique resources of the Liberty Nautical Education Center to other youth and families to experience hands-on maritime and leadership skills.
Professionally, Catherine held a variety of positions during her 30+ year career at DuPont. Most recently she worked in the DuPont Performance Building Solutions business, a $1.3 billion material and building science supplier to the construction industry where she worked with the key builders, architects, and building scientists to understand market needs and identify opportunities to collaborate and provide innovative solutions, products, and building practices for more energy efficient and sustainable buildings. As a member of the DuPont™ Building Knowledge Center, an international network of experts, she worked to shape insights, create tools, and provide resources to help members of the building industry navigate the changing future. Prior to joining Performance Building Solutions, she held positions at DuPont that spanned material research, product development, technical support, sales, channel management and strategic marketing.
After earning her M.S. Ceramic Science and Engineering at Rutgers University and her B.S. in Engineering from Rutgers University, College of Engineering, Catherine’s career brought her first to Wilmington, Delaware where she lived prior to being relocated to Northern California to manage DuPont’s channel partners in the western half of the country. She was then relocated from California back to her roots in New Jersey where she grew up to continue her career at DuPont. She now enjoys spending time with her New Jersey family and friends, and traveling to visit lifelong friends in Delaware and California, among lots of other destinations. She has always gravitated to activities that bring her outdoors including windsurfing, running, hiking, biking, skiing and snowboarding.
