David McIntyre, PhD
Dr. David McIntyre is the Chief Information Technology officer and a co-founder of Build America Mutual. Prior to joining BAM, he served as Managing Director and Global Head of Development Standards and Control at BlackRock from 2007 through 2011 and, previously, from 1997 through 2003. Before returning to BlackRock, he served as Chief Technology Officer of Data Oxygen, a subsidiary of Orbis Financial. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and a B.A. in Computer Science/Physics from Drew University.
David is a member of the Executive Board of Patriots' Path Council and currently serves as Chairman of the High Adventure Committee. He currently serves as an Assistant Scoutmaster of Troop 104, and is a Committee Member of Sea Scout Ship 228. He is a Vigil member of the Order of the Arrow, and has been awarded the Silver Beaver, the District Award of Merit, the James E. West Award, and the Winthrop Rockefeller Award. David has led four 12-day Philmont Treks and a Sabattis Canoe Trek.
In 2017, David led a group of Patriots' Path Council Executive Board members in a uprising to save Sabattis Adventure Camp, which the council was considering selling. He created The Sabattis Group, and over the next 5 years raised over $250,000 to completely rebuild Sabattis' infrastructure, build multiple large pavilions, and replace the crumbling barn with a massive steel multi-purpose steel structure.
David is an avid collector of Boy Scout memorabilia, and is the author of "New Jersey CSPs," the authoritative pictorial guide to council shoulder patches issued by New Jersey councils.
