Randy Mahr

Now a proud Veteran, Randy Mahr retired from the U.S. Navy as a Rear Admiral after a nearly 34-year career. He began his military career as an A-6E Intruder bombardier/navigator, flying from aircraft carriers and participating in several combat operations. He accumulated over 550 carrier landings and 2,000 flight hours. Later he had assignments in test & evaluation, engineering, and management on naval aviation programs around the U.S.

Randy is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy with a BS in Systems Engineering and an MS in Aerospace Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School. He earned military awards including the Defense Superior Service Medal and Distinguished Flying Cross. After retiring from the Navy, he started Mahr Citadel Solutions, LLC which is dedicated to “Doing Good With Good People”. Mahr Solutions provides technical and business consulting services for companies ranging from Veteran-owned start-ups and federally funded research and development centers to Fortune 500 companies. He also makes time to support local STEM high school programs and serve on the Board of a non-profit organization.

Born in Elizabeth NJ, Randy’s Sea Scouting background started in 1974 when he joined Ship 28 (SES Sea Dart II) and continued until the early 1980s. He achieved the Sea Scout rank of Quartermaster. In other Scouting positions he was a member of several Explorer (now Venture) units and was elected the Regional Explorer Vice President for the Northeast Region BSA. Randy is married, with 4 adult children and two dogs, but sadly no boat of his own right now. He is a baseball fan - Red Sox Nation! Randy and his wife live in Maryland.
